The former remaining areas of Dal Molin airport in Vicenza, half of which was brutally occupied in the US Army base, is transformed in a large urban park of new generation, conceived as a convivial place, a space for activities and events, but also a place for observation and fruition of nature, which will be construded with a participatory design and manegment.
The water is the main element structuring the landscape, crossing the landscape with a system of canals, basins, wetland, implicating even a hydraulic protective function for the city of Vicenza.
Designed with an ecosystemic approach, considering the large scale of the territorial landscape systems, it is a park made of water, lowland forests, wetland forests, wild orchards, lawns and wilderness areas. At its core, an extraordinary central park is structured as the main social and convivial place.
The main gate facing the city hosts welcoming and museal facilities, while the remaining part of the landing strip becomes a large event square.
